Our Story

When Jormun Gandr first came to Eorzea he had a dream to be a big time business owner. But when he first came off the ship in Limsa he didn't have a single GIL to his name and had zero contacts in the area. He spent the first year in Eorzea as a bounty hunter and a mercenary taking jobs where ever and when ever he could. He traveled all over Eorzea and fought countless battles and had almost given up his dream to be a business owner, until one day he stumbled across a small meadery on the outskirts of Gridania. It was at this meadery where he fell in love with the process of making quality mead. Over the next five years he spent all his time working at the meadery and perfecting his craft, until eventually he decided to spread his wings and settle down. Jormun bought a small home in the Lavender Beds and began making his own mead.On one fateful day while Jormun was selling his wares he came across a very friendly Highlander by the name of Tieryn; the two sat up and drank mead all night at Jormuns home. Before calling it a night Jormun came up with the idea to turn his home into a bar, to which Tieryn immediately offered to help. It didn't take long for them to turn Jormuns home into a nice quiet bar, but they knew something was missing. They later realized it was time to make this thing bigger and badder, and also they realized that it would be hard to run a bar when Jormun had a massive treasure horde in his home; so they cleaned up the gold and started building a stage.One day while renovating, Jormun stood on the stage and broke out his aetherguitar and started shredding, he immediately stopped and looked at Tieryn, both of them had an excited look in their eyes. "ROCK BAR!" It was the perfect idea and so they set-off and continued renovations and turned Jormun Gandr's tiny little meadery into the Gold Rush Rock Bar and Lounge. Several months later they hired a staff and opened their doors. Now, every night since, the Gold Rush Bar is filled with great tunes, laughs, and friendship.The rest...is history.
